The National Museum is celebrating Youth Day 2023 by hosting the Young Artists Awards.
The Free State Young Artist Awards Competition 2023 requests artworks on the topic of "Solutions to plastic pollution" as part of World Environment Day 2023.
The competition will be open to all school learners from ages 5 to 19 years old.
The National Museum will participate in World Environment Day 2023 by raising awareness of the issue of plastic waste on the earth with the previously mentioned theme.

This day is observed by many people throughout the world and serves as the greatest worldwide forum for environmental awareness.
This competition is an annual event for the National Museum that celebrates and encourages the creativity of young Free State artists.

The three categories to participate in will be: Category A which will be open to preschool learners ages 5 to 9 years old with prize money ranging from R150 - R600.
Category B will be open to primary school learners ages 10 to 14 years old with prize money ranging from R300 – R1000.
Category C will be open to High School learners ages 15 to 19 years old with prize money ranging from R750 – R1700.
All entries must be accompanied by a completed entry form, available at the National Museum, Oliewenhuis Art Museum, or can be downloaded from their website.
The competition closes on 5 August 2022.
