The Netball World Cup trophy arrived at the Bram Fischer International Airport in Bloemfontein on Tuesday night.

The trophy has been on a tour in Limpopo and now it is here for the Free State tour.

The airport was filled with netball supporters last night and people were singing and dancing whilst waiting for the arrival of the trophy.

Letsatsi, the Netball World Cup 2023 mascot, entertained people with her dance moves.

The Deputy Minister of Sport, Arts, and Culture, Nocawe Mafu, officiated the handover ceremony and was joined by the Acting Premier of the Free State, Ketso Makume, members of the Executive Council from Limpopo and the Free State.

The MEC for Sport, Arts, and Culture, Limakatso Mahasa, was also in attendance.

The arrival of the trophy in the Free State follows immediately after the Netball World Cup 50 days countdown activation, which was held in the province and led by the Minister of Sport, Arts, and Culture, Zizi Kodwa, last week.
