Mkhize to campaign for ANC Presidential position in Mangaung─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 09:07 Sun, 11 Dec 2022
Former Health Minister, Zweli Mkhize, one of the front-runners for the ANC top position - will be in the Free State on Sunday to campaign for votes.
Mkhize is one of the candidates that had put up his hand to contest for the top position of the party, challenging the current president of the ANC, Cyril Ramaphosa, and current Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, ahead of the 55th ANC elective conference in December 2022.
Mkhize is expected to be at the Mangaung City Hall, Bloemfontein, at 11:00.
He recently stated that he accepts the confidence that branches, including his own in Kwazulu-Natal’s Moses Mabhida region, had shown to him, by selecting him to stand for the top position.

On 8 June 2021, Mkhize was placed on special leave by President Ramaphosa following allegations and investigations concerning contracts between the Department of Health and service provider, Digital Vibes.
There were reports that Parliament had cleared Mkhize of contravening the Ethics and Member’s Interest Code of Conduct in relation to the controversial Digital Vibes’ R150 million contract.
However, the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) slammed the reports and confirmed that it has not cleared anyone.
