Basic Education Minister, Free State Premier to visit Qwaqwa─── MPHO MOHAPI 10:46 Thu, 13 Oct 2022
The Free State Department of Basic Education (DBE) will be visiting Qwaqwa in the Maluti-A-Phofung Local Municipality on Sunday 16 October 2022, for a prayer service.
The department’s spokesperson, Howard Ndaba, says this annual event will be held at Kgola Thuto Secondary School in Phuthadijthaba and will be led by the Minister, Angie Motshekga, and the Free State Premier, Sisi Ntombela.
“This is an annual event where we invoke divine intervention ahead of our National Senior Certificate exams. We are commencing with exams on 31 October 2022. We have about 40 000 candidates this year, which is an increase from last year.”
Ndaba says the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) will also be present at the event to assist and prepare students with information regarding 2023 applications. He adds that the department is pleading with parents to support candidates who will be writing exams this year and allow them enough time to prepare for this big moment.
