Vaal learner arrested with gun in classroom─── 06:11 Thu, 22 Sep 2022
Police in the Vaal Triangle have arrested a grade 9 learner after he was found in possession of a 9mm pistol in the classroom.
The arrest comes after the police raided Thuto-Tiro Comprehensive School in Sebokeng, in search of drugs and weapons.
This comes after another Thuto-Tiro learner was arrested on Monday for allegedly stabbing to death an 18-year-old learner from Vereeniging's General Smuts High School.
It is alleged that the pupil was stabbed while he was walking from school to the taxi rank after school hours on Monday.
Gauteng SAPS spokesperson, Colonel Dimakatso Sello, confirmed that the 17-year-old suspect was arrested on the scene.

In 2019, OFM News reported that a learner from Thuto-Tiro was stabbed to death with a pair of scissors in the classroom by another learner.
