The Northern Cape Department of Health continues its efforts to address issues of health care services to communities.
This as department is about to complete construction at one the newly-built health facilities in the province.
Accompanied by Chief Whip of ZFM District Municipality, Josef Silo; senior management from department and councillors from !Kheis Local Municipality; the provincial health MEC - Maruping Lekwene - conducted an oversight sight-visit to view the progress made on the construction of the new Boegoeberg Clinic in !Kheis Local Municipality.
According to a statement, the newly-built healthcare facility - which is nearing completion - is expected to alleviate the pressure on surrounding facilities and allow direct access to healthcare by the local community. The facility, which includes accommodation, will cost the department R25 million.

Earlier this year the spokesperson of the suspended Public Protector (PP), Busisiwe Mkhwebane, Oupa Segwale said that contractual problems between government and service providers were of the issues paralysing the provincial Healthcare system.
Meanwhile, the leadership collectively expressed their sincere appreciation to the contractors on progress made this far at the Boegoeberg clinic. Lekwene also visited Ntsikelelo clinic in Dawid Kruiper Local Municipality to assess the quality of health service delivery.
