Situation currently calm at CUT Welkom Campus─── 16:52 Mon, 04 Apr 2022
Following a protest at the Central University of Technology's (CUT) Welkom Campus, the CUT Head of Communication - Dan Maritz - has told OFM News "the matter was brought to the attention of Campus Management".
He adds that the situation at the campus is calm at the moment, but added the situation will still be monitored from time to time to ensure stability, safety and the security of students and staff on campus.

At the time of this broadcast, a private security company's employees was still visible on campus, on guard to maintain order and ensure no irregularities take place.
Meanwhile, protesting students - unhappy over a reported lack of accommodation - were still trying to gain access, saying they have no shelter for the night.
