The suspension of the troubled Trompsburg-based Kopanong Local Municipality's Municipal Manager (MM) is still being dealt with. This is according to the municipality's mayor, Xolani Tselele.
He tells OFM News that the matter is still ongoing, but refused to comment further - only adding the municipality will furnish a detailed communication once the matter has been resolved.
OFM News reported in November 2021 that Martin Kubeka had been suspended by the municipal council.

The municipality is heavily indebted, and it has recently struggled to honour its commitment to service providers like Bloem Water.
Kubeka's suspension followed financial troubles at the municipality which left workers unpaid for at least three months in 2021.
This, after the municipal account was attached by the Free State High Court.
The municipal council has since appointed Cecilia Pitso as the Acting Manager.
