Stock theft woes continue in Free State─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 09:52 Sun, 27 Mar 2022
Law enforcement agencies in the Free State have joined hands to arrest two suspects involved in an alleged stock theft incident in Bloemfontein.
Police spokesperson, Thabo Covane, says two suspects, aged 40 and 47 years old, were found in possession of stolen sheep.
He says a Nissan bakkie was discovered loading 35 sheep, who were tied up and stacked on top of each other, in the Olive Hill area.

He says the arrest of the duo came after the owner of the sheep had reported that 65 of her sheep were stolen from her smallholding.
Covane says a joint search for the suspects successfully led law enforcement agencies to arrest the first suspect who was found in the vicinity driving a Silver Daihatsu Sedan. He says police also received information that led them to Bloemside Phase 10, where the owner of the white Nissan bakkie was eventually arrested after being found in possession of six of the stolen sheep of which two were dead.
A case of suspected stolen property was opened and the suspects will appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate's Court on Monday.
