NW Woman convicted for possession of unwrought gold─── 15:49 Thu, 10 Mar 2022

Agrinath Maluli has been convicted by the Klerksdorp Magistrate’s Court for being in possession of unwrought gold.
This, following her arrest at her home in Khuma in June last year.
The Illicit Mining Task Team was following up on information when her house was searched and unwrought gold worth approximately R650 000 was found.
She made a series of court appearances and later pleaded guilty, resulting in her sentence of a fine of R100 000 or five years imprisonment, as well as a further five years imprisonment - which is wholly suspended for five years.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident two suspects were arrested at a house in Kanana on Wednesday.
The pair was found with an assortment of drugs including Ketamine, Cocaine and Mandrax.
They will appear in the Orkney Magistrate’s Court today, where they will be facing drug related charges.
