The Mangaung Metro Municipality has condemned acts of vandalism after recent incidents that damaged its water infrastructure in the Free State.
The spokesperson of the metro, Qondile Khedama, says that the vandalism of water infrastructure has a negative impact on water reticulation and the standard of water quality for consumption. This after he had confirmed that unknown suspects broke into two water reservoir sites in Thaba Nchu and damaged some property. Khedama says that the vandalism of infrastructure in the mentioned reservoirs has affected water supply in both Thaba Nchu and Botshabelo.
Khedama further urged residents to be on the lookout for any suspicious activity at any municipal facility and immediately report it to law enforcement agencies.
