FS Premier concludes two-day lekgotla─── TSHEHLA KOTELI 05:30 Wed, 23 Feb 2022
Free State Premier, Sisi Ntombela, will conclude her two-day Executive Council (Exco) Budget Lekgotla on Wednesday.
The Premier’s spokesperson, Sello Pietersen, says the purpose of the two-day lekgotla is to look at the provincial government’s priorities for the year ahead, and also advise on directives to be announced during the State of the Province Address (Sopa).

The Sopa is set to take place on Monday 28 February at the Dr Molemela Indoor Sports Centre.
The objectives of the two-day lekgotla are to ensure that departmental budgeting and spending across departments are coherent, reliable, and ethical. The lekgotla is being attended by Members of the Executive Council (MECs), Heads of Department (HODs), key officials from Provincial Treasury, Chief Financial Officers (CFOs), Procurement Specialists in government, and senior government officials.

Ntombela is expected to address several challenges faced by provincial government departments that also include cash-strapped municipalities, and several Free State towns with taps running dry due to their multi-million rand debt due to waterboards.
