NW district motivated by taste of success─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 12:35 Wed, 09 Feb 2022
The Bojanala District Director in North West, Motsei Paledi, has set high standards for the matric class of 2022 after obtaining the top spot in the province in 2021.
This after the district celebrated their top matric achievers in Kgaswane Lodge on Tuesday. Paledi indicated that for the 2022 academic year, their target is to be in the top 10 of the best-performing districts nationally. The North West MEC for Education, Mmaphefo Matsemela, stated the important role played by the community members in improving education.
“Education is a societal matter. The community should be the one that fights to protect learning and teaching. This year, l am going to interdict anyone who disrupts education. Our schools are continuously being vandalised whilst they are within the communities. We cannot allow learners to lose important time being in class due to the community protesting for things that are far away from education. As a society we need to come together and discuss how we can protect the education of our learners," added Matsemela.
Meanwhile, the Nelson Mandela Foundation’s chief executive officer, Sello Hatang, said that learners should draw inspiration from the struggle icon and former State President, Nelson Mandela, who never lost hope when he was behind bars for 27 years.
