Two sought for hate speech, revenge porn─── LUCKY NKUYANE 15:04 Thu, 09 Sep 2021

The Northern Cape police in Kimberley has launched a search for two persons of interest, allegedly involved in the violation and breach of a protection order, hate speech, and revenge porn.
The police spokesperson, Tessa Jansen, tells OFM News that a man and a woman allegedly posted pictures and videos of their ex-lovers on social media. She says the police have not been able to locate the two following the alleged crime. Jansen says the two allegedly committed the crime during August and September before a complaint was registered with the police.
“SAPS Kimberley Detectives are investigating a case of domestic violence (Contravention of a Protection/Court Order) as well as the breaching of the Films and Publications Amendment Bill that addresses hate speech and revenge porn.
"Anyone with information on the whereabouts of these transgressors may contact their nearest police station, Crime Stop 0800 10111, via the MYSAPS App or contact the Investigating Officer, W/O Visagie at 053 838 4399 (office) or 063 437 1101,” Jansen adds. She says all information or tip-offs will be treated with the strictest confidence.
In October of 2019, President Cyril Ramaphosa signed the Films and Publications Amendment Act 11 of 2019 (“the Act”) into law, which cracks down on the distribution of child pornography, hate speech, and revenge porn.
