The executive mayor of Dihlabeng local municipality in the Free State, Lindiwe Makhalema kick started the roll-out of the rapid land release program for human settlement.
She took part in a sod turning ceremony at Mashaeng, Fourisburg as a symbolic gesture of the program launch.
Tshediso Maitse, the municipality's spokesperson says infrastructure like water, sanitation, and roads must also be in place before any allocation can be finalized.
