Minister opens SIU offices in NC─── LUCKY NKUYANE 09:25 Fri, 02 Apr 2021
Justice Minister, Ronald Lamola, says maladministration lays the foundation for corruption to thrive.
Lamola said this during the unveiling of the first ever Special Investigating Unit (SIU) offices in the Northern Cape on Thursday.
He added institutions like the SIU must enable government to effect strong consequences where there is maladministration or corruption.
Lamola said the Northern Cape office will form part of a new SIU strategy which places emphasis on improving turnaround times of investigations and reaching expected legal outcomes among others.
This will also help in ensuring the implementation of SIU outcomes and recommendations.
The SIU Offices are situated at the Southern Life Building in Du Toitspan road.
Suspected acts of fraud and corruption can be reported at siu@whistleblowing.co.za or 0800 037 774.
