Speaker pays tribute to late former MEC─── LUCKY NKUYANE 08:42 Mon, 11 Jan 2021

Messages of condolences continue to pour in for the family of former MEC, Mmule Maluleka, who passed away at her village home of Lefatlheng in Mathibestad.
The North West Legislature Speaker, Sussana Dantjie, in a statement says she is saddened by the sudden and untimely death of Maluleka who died on 8 January 2021 at her home in Mathibestad. Dantjie says the former MEC for Public Works and Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee of Public Works passed on after a long illness. Dantjie adds that Maluleka never disappointed as she served the public with distinction.
Maluleka's death comes as members of the Provincial Legislature's Security Services on Monday bid farewell to Doctor Victor Tsie, who passed on due to COVID-19.
Tsie, who was the deputy security manager, passed on at the beginning of January 2021 after losing his battle with the virus which has once again gripped the country. He was buried at the Heroes Acre at the Mmabatho Cemetery on Friday.
Meanwhile, Dantjie said she spoke with Maluleka telephonically two days before her passing and says she was convinced that the deceased was fully recovering, especially since she presented no sign of illness whatsoever.
“This is a tragic loss to the Legislature and to the nation as a whole. Death has robbed the people of North West, and South Africa at large, of a dedicated servant of the people who selflessly served her nation with distinction and loyalty.
“She was an accomplished, committed and dedicated servant of the people with a very sharp mind who was ever ready to serve the people and her country.”
Dantjie says details of funeral arrangements will be made public once the family so advises.
