Four in Rustenburg court for armed house robbery─── 13:18 Wed, 09 Oct 2019
Four men arrested in connection with a house robbery at a farm in Boschfontein, near Rustenburg, are due to appear in the Rustenburg Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.
The suspects allegedly pointed a gun at the gardener and forced him to lead them into the house, where a 50-year-old woman and a domestic worker were restrained with cable ties, assaulted and pistol-whipped.
The intruders made off with a 303 rifle, jewellery, cash, mobile phones as well as the silver BMW motorbike. It was later established that the gardener had disappeared.
However, two suspects were arrested in Lethabong. Two others were nabbed at the Siza informal settlement near Boitekong.
Police recovered a 303 rifle, jewellery, mobile phones and a portion of the stolen cash, as well as the motorbike which had already been stripped off parts. The parts were found packed in boxes.
