Mother of boy who died in school stabbing, also sad about accused─── 16:31 Tue, 08 Oct 2019
The mother of the 14-year-old Tshepo Mphekgo, who died yesterday during a stabbing incident at the Thuto-Tiro Comprehensive School in Sebokeng in the Vaal, is also saddened by the arrest of the boy who allegedly stabbed her son to death.
The mother, Dikeledi Mphekgo, regards both boys, who were best friends, as her sons. She mentioned this at her home during a visit by OFM News today.
She elaborated that the two grade 9 pupils have been friends since their primary school days.
She, however, indicated that she received a call from the 15-year-old accused's family, who indicated they want to visit the bereaved family. According to her, this is because the parents are still best friends, irrespective of the unfortunate death of her son.
The accused's mother has confirmed to OFM News her intention to visit the family, saying this is a gesture to symbolise their heartfelt condolences and deep sympathy.
Officials from the Department of Social Development were offering to counsel the learners at school.
