Police raid Vaal shops─── 09:38 Thu, 15 Aug 2019
More counterfeit goods were confiscated yesterday in the Vaal, Gauteng, after police raided shops. As a result, many illegal immigrants were arrested in the Vereeniging and Vanderbijlpark CBD's.
This was confirmed to OFM News by Vaal police spokesperson, Fikile Funda, who added that the arrested illegal immigrants are now waiting to be deported. However, he could not confirm the exact number of arrests made, as he is still awaiting the report. On Monday, some Vaal residents told OFM News that the Vereeniging CBD has a lot of counterfeit goods and that the police should raid the area. The police recently raided several shops and warehouses in Gauteng. Residents complained that the fake and cheap goods in the CBD shops is a negative contributor to the economy, adding that this will not create jobs for local people.
