Concerns of whether learners in Koffiefontein will be progressed to the next grade, or not, continue.

This after indications that learners from grade 8 - 9 will be writing exams, later this month, were confirmed by one of the four schools in the town.

OFM News visited Reikaeletse High School where the headmistress explained that the Department of Education addressed them, this past Friday, with a way forward. She stated that, according to the Department of Education, the learners in her school will revise the 4th term’s work and will start with exams on the 25th of January 2019. Thereafter, they will be issued with reports on the 15th of February and will start with the 2019 curriculum on the 18th.

Although she welcomed this plan, she is concerned that the learners will burn out due to the pressure that this plan will cause as learners will need to attend weekend as well as afternoon lessons. However, she says that the Department of Education has included psychological help for learners.

OFM News previously reported that things in Koffiefontein have returned to normal and learners have returned to school to revise.
