Bloemfontein - The DA in Bloemfontein, along with Bloemwater, say they are hoping that the water supply will be restored by12:00 today, as the pipe is currently being filled with water.
This comes after planned water shutdowns in the Southern regions of Bloemfontein to fix leaking pipes.
According to DA councillor, Rossouw Botes, the water shutdowns was only supposed to last 24 hours, however, residents and businesses were left without water for four days due to a pipeline that burst near De Hoek.
"This morning at 06:00 I was in contact with Bloemwater and the people responsible for fixing the water pipe. The pipe has already been fixed, and at this stage the pipe is just being filled with water. According to their planning, they are hoping that water will be restored by 12:00 today at Bloemwater, and from there the water can be distributed to all the different reservoirs in the Southern region of Bloemfontein,” says Botes.
The affected areas are Fichardt Park, Fauna, Uitsig, Pellissier, Lourier Park, Bloem Valley, Fereirra, Quaggafontein, and other southern parts of the city.
Botes says water tanks have been made available to the affected areas.
