Bloemfontein Water Crisis
#BloemWaterCrisis could be at an end in southern parts of city─── JOSCA HUMAN 17:15 Wed, 22 Nov 2017
Water supply to the southern parts of Bloemfontein could be restored by tomorrow morning, if all goes well.
According to DA councillor, Rossouw Botes, technicians are busy working on the last phase of the pipes leading to the Brandkop reservoir, after several sections of the pipes burst last week leading to the current water crisis. Botes said they had to interrupt the water supply to certain areas in the north of Bloemfontein to allow reservoirs to build up capacity in order for pumps to effectively pump water to pressure towers.
The Mangaung Metro's spokesperson, Qondile Khedama, earlier today denied that water supply to the north is experiencing trouble, saying the Maselspoort reservoir, which supplies that part of the city, was at 100% capacity. This despite several areas in the north having no running water. He has been unavailable for comment since.
