Education Officer at Oliewenhuis Art Museum in Bloemfontein, Yolanda de Kock, joins Mid-Morning Magic’s Yolanda Maartens in the OFM Art Beat to talk about this exciting initiative.

Oliewenhuis Art Museum, a satellite of the National Museum in Bloemfontein, has a very active Education programme providing activities for a big variety of individuals. Their role, to educate the general public about their prestigious museum and South African art and artists, is being taken extremely seriously and different programmes are designed to achieve this responsibility. Their activities range from Carousel Rides, Sculpture Park treasure hunts, Guided Tours, interactive art-related booklets, to educational talks and lectures, workshops and interactive walkabouts presented by exhibiting artists.

The focus of the Mobile Museum will be on the Creative Arts subject from grade 8 – 12 learners by presenting curriculum-aligned lessons in the comfort of your classroom. The Mobile Museum is fully equipped with all the suitable art materials and resources to teach your learners an educational 30-40 minute presentation with a practical component.
