Submissions are open for the 46th Durban International Film Festival 2025─── 09:26 Tue, 26 Nov 2024
DIFF, Africa’s leading Oscar-qualifying festival, invites filmmakers to submit films for its 2025 edition, held from 17–27 July.
Early submissions with discounted fees close on 19 December 2024 and the final deadline is 31 January 2025. Eligible films must be completed after January 2024 and not publicly screened in South Africa before DIFF 2025.

The categories are:
- Feature Films: African fiction, 60+ min (Non-African by invitation)
- Documentaries: African documentaries, 60+ min (Non-African by invitation)
- Short Films: Fiction/non-fiction under 60 min (Open globally)
- Student Films: Fiction/non-fiction under 60 min (Open globally; director must have been a tertiary student when produced)
