Kovsies face Maties in Varsity Hockey semi─── 08:39 Mon, 11 May 2015
The University of the Free State Kovsies Women’s hockey team has remained unbeaten in the Varsity Hockey series with a 8-0 trashing the University of Cape Town in Johannesburg.
After seven rounds, the Bloemfontein side tops the standings on 32 points after wins over Tuks, NMMU and UCT this past weekend.
Their unbeaten status sees them face the fourth placed University of Stellenbosch Maties this evening in the second semi-final.
Maties are the defending champions and face an arduous task facing the confident Free Staters however the knock out stage is where it will matter the most.
The first semi-final will see Tuks up against hosts, the University of Johannesburg at 17:00, and this will be followed by the Kovsies – Maties game at 18:45.
