State of Kopanong Municipality in spotlight─── CATHY DLODLO 11:24 Wed, 22 Jul 2015
Trompsburg - Senior municipal officials and politicians from the Kopanong Municipality, which includes Trompsburg and Reddersburg, had to answer probing questions from members of the Free State Legislature and the permanent delegation to the National Council of Provinces during an oversight visit to Trompsburg today.
The municipality had its equitable share withheld by national treasury at the beginning of the year because of its outstanding debt to Eskom and the Water Board.
But even before the questions started the committee indicated its dissatisfaction with the absence of the provincial department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs and provincial treasury.
