Treason trial judgment continues tomorrow | News Article

Bloemfontein - Judge Mojalefa Rampai will continue handing down judgment in the Mangaung treason trial when proceedings resume in the Free State High Court tomorrow morning.

Rampai dealt with testimony of various state witnesses today, highlighting Jaco Scherman, Captain Fryer and Warrant Officer Botha as impressive witnesses.
Robbetze testified as a section-204 witness, meaning he could be spared prosecution if Rampai considers his testimony truthful.

Johan Prinsloo stands accused of high treason, or alternately conspiracy to commit acts of terrorism, as well as weapons and ammunition charges for allegedly plotting to overthrow the ANC leadership during its elective conference in Mangaung in 2012.
Prinsloo was meanwhile supported by his wife Katrien and daughter Cassandra. Controversial Afrikaner figure Andre Visagie was also present in court for the first time today, claiming to have been banned from attending earlier proceedings.
