Bloemfontein - A huge surprise befell a young 13-year-old girl from Bloemfontein recently when she was offered a sponsorship to enrol in an Entrepreneurship Development Programme Masterclass at the University of the Free State’s Business School.
Morgan Pelser recently built a giant gingerbread house to raise over R200 000 for the Children's Wing Project of Universitas Hospital in the city. According to Thabo Pitse from the Business Management Department at the university, Pelser is the youngest learner ever to participate in the programme.
Usually young entrepreneurs between the ages of 16 and 18 are chosen for this programme. He says Pelser has shown herself to be an innovative, active, young entrepreneur and philanthropist and therefore the Business School has decided to give the scholarship to her on merit.
After completion of the course in December, Pelser will receive an NQF Level 5 certificate from the University of the Free State at the Business School’s graduation.
