A Bloemfontein family has been struck by a second painful tragedy while still arranging their child's funeral.

A Khayelitsha's family shack was gutted by a fire whilst still mourning the loss of their child who passed on earlier. The Free State Social Development Department says this family's home in Khayelitsha burned in the early hours of Thursday morning. The family members were still arranging their child's funeral on Saturday. The department has since urged any Good Samaritan to assist with clothes for three adults, aged 27, 30 and 46, and two kids, a girl aged three and a boy aged twelve.

OFM News previously reported that a matriculant at Rainbow High School and his relatives were left reeling in shock after a fire gutted their home on Wednesday in Bultfontein, Phahameng, in the Free State.

The 21-year-old matriculant, Kabelo Tshehlo, had just returned home after writing his first exam paper on Wednesday.

Family spokesperson, Tsakane Mpikwane, told OFM News that the brothers, aged 18 and 21 years old, have lost everything in the fire which happened at around 10:00. She said luckily no one was injured during the fire because no one was inside the home at the time of the incident. Mpikwane says the two desperate brothers are heartbroken and they are pleading for a helping hand from a Good Samaritan to help with, among others, food, clothes, and shoes.
