Donna le Roux has won the girls under-16 title at the Tennis South Africa Junior National Championship in Bloemfontein.
The local favourite who is the daughter of the former Springbok and Cheetahs prop, Ollie le Roux, won the final this morning in straight-sets.
The second seeded Le Roux beat Allegra van der Walt with ease by claiming a 6-1, 6-2 win.
Meanwhile, in the boy’s under-18 final, the 7th seeded Cornel Liebenberg of Bloemfontein was beaten in three sets by the second seeded Rudiger Dusselberg. Dusselberg won the final 2-6, 7-6 and 6-2.
Liebenberg is the son of the former Free State and Proteas wicketkeeper, Gerhardus Liebenberg.
Recently both Le Roux and Liebenberg were included in the South African U18 schools team.
