Sinner dominates Australian Open final─── MORGAN PIEK 07:41 Mon, 27 Jan 2025
Jannik Sinner of Italy successfully defended his Australian Open title, by putting in a dominant performance during the men’s singles final in Melbourne.
On Sunday, the 23-year-old world number one won the Australian Open men’s singles title for the second time after beating Alexander Zverev of Germany in straight sets at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne.
Sinner beat the former Olympic champion 6-3, 7-6 and 6-3 for his third Grand Slam title.
Following his successful title defence, Sinner said that he was more than happy with the form he displayed during the year’s first Grand Slam and it should give him good momentum going forward.
Never going to get tired of watching Jannik Sinner lifting Grand Slam trophies.
A genuinely good person off the court and an absolute monster on it.

“It was an amazing run again here in Australia,” said Sinner after claiming a third Grand Slam title. “You know that you can do it because you’ve done it once – what I understood this time is every day is different, you have days where you might feel a bit not 100%, and then the next match all of a sudden, ‘Okay, I’m into the tournament.
“How I handled every situation on the court, not only today in the final, but in general, was very nice.
“I’m very happy to have it and it means so much to me. Of course, on hard court, I feel more comfortable. I take it as a positive because I still have to improve on other surfaces.
"This is the most special Grand Slam!" ??

All three of Sinner’s Grand Slam titles have come on hard courts, and he added that the goal is to ensure that he also wins at the French Open on clay, and at Wimbledon on grass.
“I’m going to put a lot of energy in that, trying to find the right ways, and hopefully to go far also in the other Grand Slams that are not played on a hard court.”
Meanwhile, on Saturday, Madison Keys of the USA beat Aryna Sabalenka 6-2, 2-6 and 7-5 to win the women’s singles for her first-ever Grand Slam title.
