South Africa was the only African country to make the top 20 of the world’s most beautiful countries to visit by an online trip-planning company Rough Guides.

The yearly poll, which aims to identify the top 20 most beautiful countries in the world, was decided by reader votes cast from all around the world.

The most beautiful countries in the world were determined through reader votes. The categories considered include landscapes, culture, people, architecture, and food, to name a few.

Top Reviews revealed the top provinces to travel to in the country:

• Western Cape: Known for being home to many of the country’s most iconic landmarks. The most popular place here is Cape Town, which is also the country’s legislative capital. The area is known for outdoor activities such as hiking up the iconic Table Mountain and exploring the diverse wildlife of the Afromontane Forest.
• Eastern Cape: What makes the Eastern Cape stand out is its coastal towns that offer tons of fun activities like surfing and beach bumming.
• KwaZulu-Natal: It’s a coastal province that’s famous on the continent for its sandy beaches. The province is quite popular worldwide for its natural beauty and diversity, especially concerning wetlands.
• Free State: This region of South Africa is primarily known for its agricultural scenery and open spaces, with over thirty thousand farms, and its mountain-like terrain. The province is brimming with parks and mountains where you can find lots of caves and cliffs to explore, as well as rock formations to discover.
• Limpopo: The province is known for its abundance of bushveld terrain and nature reserves and is also South Africa’s best safari spot with wildlife-rich places like Kruger National Park.

The South African reports the top ten most beautiful countries to visit in the world are South Africa (10), Greece (9), Australia (8), Norway (7), the United Kingdom (6), France (5), Switzerland (4), Canada (3), Italy (2), and New Zealand (1).
