Education confirms deadline for matric rewrites─── 08:55 Wed, 04 Jan 2023
The class of 2022 has until 15 March 2023 to apply to rewrite their matric exams.
The Department of Education says the 2022 Matric results will be released on 20 January 2023 at exam centers and schools.
The official release of results by the Minister of Basic Education, Angie Motshekga, will take place the day before, on 19 January 2023.
"The 15th of March 2023 will be the date that we close the application process for those who want to rewrite, if they wish to increase the pass marks in terms of the results that they would have obtained," says the spokesperson for the department, Elijah Mhlanga.
"It is critical that as soon as you get your results, please look into them, and apply immediately.
"We get requests from applicants every year after the deadline has passed, and we cannot take any more after that because the process is regulated and everything runs on time.’’
