It's going to be a expensive festive season for motorists as both grades of petrol will go up by 59 cents as of Wednesday.
Diesel, on the other hand, will go down by R1,57.
The Mineral Resources and Energy Department has cited current local and international factors when determining the prices.
These include the fact that South Africa imports crude oil and finished products at a price set at the international level, including shipping costs.
