There’s some good news for food and fuel prices in the coming months.
Economists widely expect prices for both consumer essentials to cool off gradually.
The Bureau for Economic Research says there’s a downward trend in global oil prices, and if it continues there may be a sizeable fuel price cut at the end of the month.
Nedbank also highlights that food inflation likely peaked at around 10% in July and will start easing, average at about 7% for the year.
There have been several protests against price hikes in recent weeks.
