Mpumalanga bus transported 127 pupils at time of crash - paramedics─── 08:28 Sat, 28 May 2022
Paramedics who were on the scene of a bus crash in Mpumalanga say the vehicle rolled down an embankment after the driver lost control.
A total of 127 pupils between the ages of 16 and 19 years were in the bus at the time of the crash.
The pupils, who were travelling on the R40 between Hazyview and White River, suffered mostly minor to moderate injuries.

ER24 spokesperson Ross Campbell says all the pupils managed to free themselves from the bus.
They were treated and transported to multiple healthcare facilities for further care.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the provincial Department of Transport Moeti Mmusi says an investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.
"The investigations to the crash are already underway, the safety engineering unit in our department and police department are working on investigating the scene. The drivers and the pupils will form part of the interviews as well."
