Conrad delighted with allrounder Mulder's form─── MORGAN PIEK 09:05 Tue, 05 Nov 2024
“So it’s great that he is running into the form that we know he's capable of and that certainly does bode well for the next couple of years. I'd like to think.”
The Proteas red-ball coach, Shukri Conrad, is delighted with the run of form shown by the allrounder, Wiaan Mulder, in recent times.
The 26-year-old Mulder has started to show his true potential as a genuine allrounder of late with bat and ball, and during the recent Test series against Bangladesh he scored an outstanding maiden century.
In addition, he also scored a half century during the 1st Test in Dhaka.

Recently the Lions allrounder opened up about a condition which had the potential to derail his career, and how he has to adjust his training to make it work.
Conrad told OFM Sport that Mulder is a very important player in their pursuit of reaching a first World Test Championship final.
“We all forget that he's only 25 or 26-years-old, so maybe it started out too early for him and he wasn't able to come to grips with the expectations and obviously didn't get as many opportunities,” said Conrad.
“But, yes, he’s learning quickly and he's a guy that thrives on the backing he gets. He's critical for our team going forward - he adds so much balance to our side when he's playing well at number seven and what he does and what he's able to do with the ball.
“So it’s great that he is running into the form that we know he's capable of and that certainly does bode well for the next couple of years. I'd like to think.”
The Proteas next Test starts on 28 November against Sri Lanka at Kingsmead in Durban.
