Boks squad announcement delayed─── MORGAN PIEK 14:19 Mon, 24 Jun 2024
“It's actually sort of a nice situation to be in and we can only be honest as we can be as the coaches and selectors and tell the players why they are making and not making the team.”
The Springbok squad for the incoming Ireland series has been delayed by a day due to unforeseen circumstances.
The squad for the two Tests against Ireland was meant to be announced on Monday morning, however, the team's flight out of London was delayed several times.
This resulted in the fly being cancelled, and the Springboks having to book another in order to return home after the one-off Test.
The Springboks flew out to South Africa on Monday and the squad will now only be announced on Tuesday.

Following the Springboks 41-13 win against Wales, the Bok coach, Rassie Erasmus, said he now has some selection headaches, while they were also just waiting for the medicals regarding the Bulls players.
“It's actually sort of a nice situation to be in and we can only be honest as we can be as the coaches and selectors and tell the players why they are making and not making the team,” said Erasmus.
“We will announce the squad for the Irish series as soon as we have assessed all of the Bulls injuries.
We also have some bumps and bruises on this side as well.”
Players from the Bulls weren't incontention for the Test at Twickenham as they were still competing in the United Rugby Championship and ultimately host the final which was played on Saturday as well.
The first Test will be played on 6 July at Loftus Versfeld.
