The frustration is starting to mount in the Toyota Cheetahs camp ahead of the expected resumption of rugby matches in South Africa.
Three weeks ago the green-light was given for matches to resume, but the ministry of sport has still not granted permission for contact training to go ahead.
Furthermore, the Cheetahs and the Southern Kings, are both still waiting to find out their fate in the Guinness PRO14.
Reniel Hugo, who has re-joined the Cheetahs from Toyota Verblitz in Japan, told OFM Sport that it very frustrating.
“It’s really good being back at the Cheetahs, and I am enjoying every minute of it so far.
“It’s nice having the whole group training together again because the guys really missed each other, and it’s good seeing them all again.
“You can see that the guys are frustrated because things aren’t going as quickly as we would like. We are still waiting for answers.
“Hopefully the government and SA Rugby can come to a conclusion soon so that we can know what we are working towards.
“I think you can understand that is really tough just training and you don’t have a set date as to when you are going to start playing again.
“In that sense, it is quite frustrating, but it really training together and getting to know the new guys.”
SA Rugby earlier indicated that they target for the resumption of matches is in mid-September, but, the teams will need at least three to four months of contact training in order to be match ready.
SA Rugby will be meeting on Friday to discuss and to decide on the way forward.
