The North West University Pukke continue with their preparations for this coming Monday’s Varsity Cup Final against the University of Stellenbosch Maties.
The 2016 Champions will travel to the wine route town of Stellenbosch in search of their 2nd ever Varsity Cup title while the Maties will be chasing cup number 4.
The sides met in Potchefstroom during round 9 of the competition in what was then a possible preview of the final.
No definitive pre-match favorite for the final could be determined as the sides played to a 33-all draw, which sets up what is expected to be another tightly contested final.
Nail biting finals are, however, nothing new for these sides with Monday night’s clash essentially a repeat of the 2016 final, where the match went to 89 minutes with Pukke claiming victory by a solitary point.
The 2018 Champion, however, will be crowned on Monday when Maties and Pukke clash at the Danie Craven with kick off expected at 19:00.
