The Springboks departed for Argentina at 11 o’clock this morning for their Rugby Championship return leg against the Pumas.
The two teams will go head-to-head in Salta, the very same ground where the men in green-and-gold lost 26-24 a year ago.
The Toyota Cheetahs captain, Francois Venter, also boarded the flight to South America along with Jano Vermaak who replaced the injured Ross Cronjé.
The Springboks will be wearing the special edition red jersey this week, and while it hasn’t been received well by the supporters, the flank Jaco Kriel says he has no issues with the jersey.
“Personally I haven’t seen the jersey, only on social media.
“As players we’re still representing our country and we’re still proud to the pull the jersey over our heads because there are so many kids who dream of wearing it.
“No matter what colour it is, we’re still representing our country.”
Saturday’s Test in Salta kicks off at 21:40.
