The England coach, Eddie Jones, has cut his squad for the team’s four upcoming Tests to 25 players.

This comes as the side are starting to wrap up their preparations for Saturday’s Test against the Springboks at Twickenham in London.

After the Springboks, the world’s second-ranked side also face Fiji, Argentina and the Wallabies.

Of the remaining players in the squad Josh Beaumont, Nathan Hughes, Kyle Sinckler and Ben Te'o are all uncapped.

The English are currently on a nine-match unbeaten run and are yet to record a defeat under the guidance of Jones.

The Springboks in their turn have beaten England 11 times in the last 12 times they’ve played, with the Test in 2012 in Port Elizabeth a 14-14 draw.

The flank, Tom Wood, warned that the Springboks cannot be underestimated despite a poor 2016.

“We’ll just take each game as it comes, we won’t get too carried away. We’ve got a big game coming up against South Africa.

“They’ hurting on the back of perhaps under performing and struggling in a few games.

“We know a wounded South Africa is a very dangerous animal so we’ll just focus on that for now.

“It’s very learn doors for me, I’m just trying to get up to speed with everything and try and make the 23.”

Both England and the Springboks will be naming their teams for Saturday’s Test at Twickenham on Thursday.
