Pukke are rejunvenatated ahead of Varsity Cup final─── 09:18 Fri, 10 Apr 2015
The North West University will tackle the Shimlas on Monday night in the final of the Varsity Cup with a rejunvenatated confidence after their strong lead up in to the match.
Puk flyhalf, Johnny Welhagen is a new player after scoring the match winning try against Tukies in the semi-final to send his side into the derby against their bitter-rivals.
Pukke coach, Robert Du Preez agrees with Shimlas mentor, Franco Smith that the fact that the match is a traditional derby won’t bring added pressure, but it will instead add to the occasion.
The former Springbok scrumhalf added that after an up-and-down season, his side has their confidence back.
Monday night’s final kicks off at 19:00, while at 16:30 the Koshuis Rugby final between Vishuis and Mopanie kicks-off.
Tickets will go on sale at the Shimla Park on Monday afternoon at 14h30 at R30 a ticket.
