Parys - A Boer goat ewe that gave birth to four kids has reportedly been sold for a South African record breaking price.

Landbou.com reports that the ewe fetched a record price of R84 000 during the recent Take 2 Genetics auction at the Afridome in Parys.

She was bred by the Nico Botha Boer Goat Stud in Britstown, which is owned by Carel Byleveld, and sold to Pieter Smith from Alldays.

The auction was presented by OVK/CMW.

According to the report, the most expensive ram on auction was sold for R105 000. A total of seventeen rams were sold for an average of just over R14 000 each, while all 86 ewes on offer were sold at an average price of R10 385 each.
