The state of municipalities in the Northern Cape will once again come under the spotlight on Wednesday.
The MEC for Cooperative Governance, Human Settlement and Traditional Affairs, Bentley Vass, embarks on a visit to different district municipalities in the province, where issues relating to the lack of housing are also expected to come under the loop when he visits housing construction sites.
Vass’s visit to all the five districts comes soon after Premier Sylvia Lucas committed to clearing out corruption in government departments, and assisting financially troubled municipalities during her State of the Province Address delivery earlier this year.
Municipalities in this province are currently over half a billion indebted to Eskom.
