Plettenberg Bay - A Plettenberg Bay surfer escaped with his life after a shark attack off Look Out Beach late yesterday afternoon.
According to the National Sea Rescue Institute spokesperson Craig Lambinon, the 23-year-old Dylan Reddering was rescued from the water by fellow surfers after being bitten by what is believed to be a shark while surfing.
He suffered lacerations on the right side of his body, including his ribs, buttocks and leg.
Reddering was transferred to Knysna for further treatment.
Bathers and surfers are urged to be cautious in the area following the incident, particularly with the start of the winter holidays.
