SA’s national winner at the Sony World Photography Awards, Bongani Tshabalala, talks to Mid-Morning Magic's Yolanda Maartens about his winning entry photo and what this astonishing achievement means to him.
“Start where you are, start with what you have, start with your voice trembling... just start but do not stop,” says Bongani Tshabalala, SA’s national winner at the Sony World Photography Awards.

Bongani Tshabalala's winning photo entry
The Central University of Technology applauded Bongani who is a former student at the institute. “Mr Tshabalala’s achievement is an inspiration to us, as it represents the entrepreneurial drive and spirit of CUT students who are the backbone of many innovations and entrepreneurial actions that are synonymous with the university”, said Prof Alfred Ngowi, acting Vice-Chancellor and Principal.
Bongani is also part of the Free State Art Collective.
