Water restored to Bloem─── KATLEHO MORAPELA 10:32 Sat, 07 Apr 2018
Bloemfontein - Water has been restored to most parts of Bloemfontein.
This as residents in Pellissier, Fauna, Lourierpark, Phase 2, and Waverley amongst others had to do without water for almost a week, since the Easter weekend.
It is alleged the municipality is over R260 million indebted to Bloem Water and that the water board was only supplying the municipality with about 30 % of the normal water supply.
Residents in Pellissier and Phase 2 told OFM News their water has been fully restored.
Some of them however, continue to lambaste the municipality for their lack of communication regarding issues that continue to affect them and failure to issue water cut notifications nor making provision to supply them with water tankers when taps run dry.
The Mangaung Metro Municipality’s spokesperson, Qondile Khedama, in a statement, said the municipality has finalised their engagement with Bloem Water regarding issues related to water pressure and water supply in the southern part of the City, and the matter is resolved.
He is, however, yet to respond to OFM News’ enquiries on the metro’s lack of refuse collection to some areas.
