FS Psychiatric Hospital appeals to NCOP for assistance─── KATLEHO MORAPELA 16:46 Thu, 24 Aug 2017
Vacant clinical posts in the Free State Health Department is a growing concern. This is according to the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) currently on a week-long oversight visit to the public healthcare facilities in the province.
Responding to issues raised by the Council at the Free State Psychiatric Complex, its CEO, Jacqueline Seboko, said the hospital has on several occasions made the department aware of the issues continuing to plague them, but not much has been done.
Seboko has appealed to the NCOP to assist with ensuring that developments at the hospital are fast-tracked. She says they are currently awaiting a response from the department on the crisis relating to the shortage of medical personnel at the hospital.
Seboko says they are hopeful they will receive a response from the department at least before the end of September.
